MPI is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Process Development Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will work in our technology center to run equipment, develop products, and perform equipment/process testing. This is an entry-level role designed for engineers who are eager to develop their technical skills and grow within the field.

$22-$27 per hour!

Qualifications

  • Education: Associates degree preferably in Engineering, or relevant experience in Manufacturing.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience in a technical or engineering role, preferably in a manufacturing or process development environment. Internship experience is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Etc).
    • Basic understanding of programming
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to follow detailed instructions and perform hands-on tasks with precision.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Injection Setup and Optimization: Setup new tools and for wax injection, optimize recipes for pattern quality and optimal cycle time
  • Automation Setup and Optimization: Design and manufacture custom tooling for automating parts on our Injection and Assembly Cells. Program and optimize robot routines to automate processes.
  • Production Planning: Assist the wax room supervisor with creating a dynamic schedule that will effectively utilize our team members and equipment to maximize our production and minimize our lead times.
  • Production: Assist in the operation of automated and manual equipment. Develop manual wax assembly skills to backfill as needed.
  • Lean Improvements: Identify any inefficiencies in the manufacturing process and assist in developing solutions to reduce or eliminate those inefficiencies.
  • Conduct Equipment and Process Testing: Execute tests on various equipment and processes, ensuring proper functionality and performance under different conditions.
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Collect and analyze test data, identifying trends and potential areas for improvement in equipment and process efficiency.
  • Test Documentation: Document test setups, procedures, and results. Prepare detailed reports outlining test outcomes, observations, and recommendations for further optimization.
  • Collaborate with Senior Engineers: Work closely with senior engineers to develop test plans, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to company and industry safety standards during all tests and experiments. Report on any safety concerns immediately.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify any equipment or process failures and provide initial troubleshooting support under the direction of senior engineers.
  • Continuous Learning: Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance technical knowledge.
  • Support MPI lean culture and initiatives: Attend and participate in daily lean meetings while supporting efforts to make continuous improvements throughout MPI.
  • Leadership Support: Guide the Pattern Production team in the absence of Pattern Production Coordinator.
  • Other Duties as assigned by management
